Advisory & Consulting

The decisions that sit behind the hire.

A resourcing brief is usually a symptom of a bigger workforce or delivery question. We work with digital and ICT leaders on the sourcing strategy, workforce structure, and procurement pathway underneath it — for government and private sector clients.

Sourcing strategy

Build vs. buy vs. panel‑source, contractor mix, and how to structure a business case so it survives budget review — advice shaped around what actually gets approved.

Workforce design

Right‑sizing a delivery team against a statement of work, identifying which capability should sit permanently in‑house versus be brought in for a defined engagement.

Procurement pathway

Guidance on which panel or exemption applies to a given piece of work — including the DTA Digital Marketplace (DMP2) — and how to frame a request so probity and procurement sign off without three rounds of revisions.

Where we typically get engaged

Agencies and organisations bring us in during business case development, ahead of a machinery‑of‑government or organisational change, or when a program has quietly become dependent on two or three contractors nobody has a succession plan for.

Our advisory work is deliberately independent of our recruitment desk — we give an honest view on whether a role should exist at all, even when the answer costs us a placement fee.

Engagements are usually four to ten weeks, run by a senior advisor with direct delivery experience in a comparable environment, and end with a short, specific set of recommendations rather than a slide deck built to be filed away.
